The Nurture Center was founded in December, 2000, by Meri Levy and Sherry Henderson. We met through our local Mother's Club, and when Meri had the idea to open a store and resource center for new parents, Sherry was the only person brave enough to join her! They started the website NurtureCenter.com in 2001, in an effort to reach a national audience for our unique product mix and our goal of helping new parents nurture themselves and their babies. In Spring of 2009 the Nurture Center became part of Tender Cargo, a Berkeley baby store and website owned by local mom Christine Alonso. (Press Release here)

The Nurture Center is now a thriving business, located at the same address on Mt Diablo Blvd in Lafayette CA where it first opened its doors. We took over the entire building we occupy in 2004, and we're already busting at the seams!

We pride ourselves on offering a unique selection of products that are mom and baby-tested and approved, and we hope they make your experience as a new parent easier and more enjoyable. We are a Medela Certified Nursing Center.
