New Addition Parenting Group
This warm and supportive group is a wonderful way to meet other parents of newborns. We welcome you to share your stories and experiences as you make your way through the sometimes confusing, sometimes amusing changes a new baby can bring. Bring your baby with you (up to a year in age). We welcome not only new parents but also experienced parents who have a new addition to their family! Facilitator Lizette Marx covers a pertinent new topic of interest at each meeting. $15.00 a session. Not a drop in- group.

Bosom Friends Nursing Mom’s Group
Join Mary Marine, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, as she leads this fun & informative group created specifically for the needs of nursing moms! Mary addresses concerns such as latch problems, low milk production, slow weight gain, basics of pumping, and how to avoid common ailments such as plugged ducts, mastitis, sore nipples & more! Bring your baby and experience nurturing care at a truly affordable price. Cost: $25.00 a session. Bosom Buddies meets each Tuesday from 1pm to 2pm at The Nurture Center,3399 Mt. Join us for a fun evening of discussion and education about how a Labor or Postpartum Doula can be of great help to you in your birthing and new parent experience. The Mt. Diablo Doula Community is committed to addressing your questions and concerns and this free event makes it easy for you to meet with a number of experienced Doulas in one convenient location. Caring For Your Newborn with Beth Hammond
Come learn what to expect when you have your new baby, from immediately following birth through the first few months. Beth’s fun and interactive approach will help make your transition to parenthood an enjoyable and smooth experience. Hands on practice for how to diaper, bathe, burp, swaddle and play with your newborn. Learn warning signs in a newborn and how to avoid common mistakes new parents make. Learn how the newborn brain works and how to increase brain development as well as signs of over-stimulation. Become confident entering your postpartum period, knowing what to expect, what you will need as new parents, and how to manage the first few months of your baby’s life. Have fun preparing for your new baby; learn what baby products are must-haves and which are not necessary. Baby Do I Need Some Sleep! with Beth Hammond
Are you a sleep deprived new parent? Do you wonder whether your baby should be sleeping longer at night? Is getting your baby to sleep or having them stay asleep a problem for you? Does your baby nap well or is it a struggle to get them to nap and stay asleep? Sleep is essential for baby’s brain development, physical growth and for parent sanity. Find out what is a normal sleep pattern for babies, and find out if your baby is getting the sleep they need to thrive. Learn different techniques to use and get skills to help you on your way to a full night’s sleep. Many philosophies and strategies will be discussed to help you find the solution that fits your parenting style. Beth Hammond is a postpartum doula that specializes in sleep and fussy baby issues. She will guide you through ways to get your toddler in a sleep pattern that will help them grow and allow you to thrive as parents. Cost: $60.00 per couple. Integrated Methods Childbirth Series with Deanna Mulder-Sauter & Cybele Mac Hardy. 10am-3pm both days.
With 10 hours of instruction and group activity, this incredible series is part birth education, part coping preparation and part self-exploration. This class includes how the mind and our beliefs lay the foundation for our unique birth experience and contains proven techniques to support the unpredictability of sensation in birth. You will receive clear handouts presented in a 3 ring binder for easy reference, as well as home practice exercises, a recommended reading list and a relaxation and hypnosis CD. Course fee: $225.00 per couple. Advance registration is needed.
