I have tried several slings and wraps and while I love them all, if I had to pick one it would definitely be the Ergo. I have a 3 year old, and with the Ergo I can handle everything from errands to zoos to playing soccer with my 9 month old happily napping or watching the action. I'm not a big "gear" person but this is my one exception!

My daughter and I both love the ERGO. I have used it from when she was an infant (front carry) until now, when she is a toddler (back carry). I had her in it all day in the heat of Hawaii while I watched my friend do the IronMan triathlon. It was a bit hot, of course, but neither she nor I got uncomfortable from the ERGO. The waist belt is not super comfortable for me. It seems to "ride up" a bit. Other than that, I think that it's fantastic. My shoulders never get sore!

i love the ergo. i use it twice every day when i carry my 10 month old back and forth to daycare. i feel so much closer to her than i do when i use the stroller, and i navigate the stairs with ease. even at 20 pounds i find it quite comfortable.

This is great! I have been using several different kinds of baby carrier, but this is THE BEST. I am using this carrier everyday since my baby is 4 months old. My husband never used any carrier, but this Ergo. It is easy for both of us to use in front or back carry.
I wish I had this carrier for my first child!! I recomend to every girl friend to get this carrier.

We have used the Ergo since our little girl was first born and have loved it since the first time we used it! The newborn insert was a necessity for a long time as she was a small baby and would not have fit otherwise. We travel a lot and could not have survived without the Ergo; it's the only way she will fall asleep besides being in a crib. She is instantly comforted by being in it and snuggles right in, even now at 20 months. She enjoys being able to ride on our back and even though she is almost 2, it is still comfortable for us to wear her. I would recommend the Ergo to anyone!

I love my ergo! It's comfortable, even with my 38 pound 2 year old
in it! My husband is tall, 6-4, and has back problems. This is the only way he could carry our son for any period of time. We have a new baby now, and I carry her everywhere in it. I have tried other carriers, nothing compares!

I've tried the wrap, sling, and other baby carriers -- none of them beats the Ergo carrier in terms of comfort for both the baby and me. Besides offering better support for me (with weight bearing on my hips), my baby has fallen asleep in this carrier countless times. I did a lot of research on carriers (and spent a lot of money overall trying them out) and do believe that the way the Ergo allows you to carry the baby (in a seated position, with legs bent and support under the baby's thighs) provides the greatest support for the baby's developing spine. I also had a bad experience with one of those other carriers in which the baby's legs are left dangling straight down. I noticed that the baby's legs were turning a purplish blue (probably from the carrier's straps cutting off his circulation). Finally, I'm still carrying my 25 lb. one year old with the Ergo carrier while doing laundry and running quick errands with what seems to be no effort! With the amount of use I've gotten from this carrier, I have no regret paying the hundred bucks for it. Needless to say, the Ergo baby carrier is the only one for me.

The Ergo was probably the most important baby gear item that I got (except for the crib). I have used it nearly everyday since my daughter was 5 days old to present. She is currently 18 months and 25 lbs. I am not opposed to strollers (and have one for running), but I find it easier to use than a stroller because I can be more mobile (go up and down stairs, don't worry about curbs, hiking is easier, takes up less room in the car, etc.). There is a zippered pouch that is great to hold a diaper, wipes, and a snack so short trips out of the house is easy. It is very comfortable. I am currently pregnant and still easily can carry my daughter for about 1 hour without any soreness or pain.
The only cumbersome thing to learn in order to use the Ergo for a 5 month old is to practice putting your child on your back by yourself. After a few attempts over the couch I mastered it.

Love this carrier! Had purchased a cheap version that had a waist band that claimed to trasfer the weight to your hips but nothing compares to this carrier. Saves my back and shoulders plus my baby is comfortable and loves being in it. We even walked 6 miles together (baby in ergo) for the march of dimes a few weeks ago and were both comfortable even at the end. I highly recommend this carrier! Better to invest in a quality product that is not only comfortable, but versatile as a front, back or hip carrier. Love the hood and the zipper pocket. The Nurture center had free shipping and it was quick and hassell free. Great buy!

Great carrier! Have only used on the back. Very comfortable. Weight sits on hips and doesn't pull on your back or shoulders. Can move with ease. Takes a bit to get comfortable putting your baby on your back and getting straps up but after a week or so you'll be a pro. This past Saturday I walked around NYC for 8 hours and up and down the subway stairs with no problems all while having my baby in the Ergo carrier.

This is the BEST carrier! I had been given another carrier at my baby shower, which my husband used regularly when my daughter was first born. However soon his shoulders began to hurt from the poor design of the other carrier. I did my research and settled on my Ergo and will never go back! I can wear my daughter (21 lbs) for hours at a time. Highly recommended. Also the simple color schemes make it gender neutral and make it fashionable for both men and women to wear.

We tried:
Moby Wrap
Bjorn
Chicco
Ring Sling
AND
Ergo
The only one we use is the Ergo. Our daughter loves it. She cries when we take her out of it. It is just amazing how cloe you can feel up against your baby when you wear the Ergo.
Also, daddy wears this one but refused to wear the other ones. This is perfect for mommies and daddies alike. It is SO easy to put on (ugh, moby wrap!) and take off. It is perfect for the grocery store.
Everyone in my parent group has this carrier and all of their babies love it.
A MUST HAVE! Take it from a mom who spent WAY too much on other carriers!

I absolutely LOVE my Ergo Baby Carrier. I have other carriers, but can't carry my baby for as long as I can in the Ergo, because they start to hurt my back or shoulders. I've worn her at the zoo for several hours, done yardwork, and been on long walks, all with her on my back. I really like the padded waist and shoulder straps.
One downside is that the baby can't be front facing, but my baby doesn't have a problem with that. For me, there is only one thing that bothers me and that is the chest strap is difficult to latch in a front facing carry if you are alone.
At first, I was hesitant to purchase this carrier b/c of the price. However, I've found it was well worth the price.

Hands down, the BEST baby carrier of all time! We have a sling, wrap, and mei tai and this is by far my favorite. I discovered the Ergo when my son was 14 months and we used it until he was 2.5 and I was too pregnant to wear him. With my daughter, we started using it when she was a newborn and will likely use it as long as we did my son. We use it daily and it's held up wonderfully, despite long hikes, several plane trips, and daily in and outs. I've slammed the buckle in the car door several times and it wasn't until a few weeks ago that it broke. Within one week, Ergo sent me a new clip, which was easily sewed on ny a shoe repair store. My favorite thing about the Ergo is that I can easily nurse my daughter (11 months in it). LOVE my Ergo!

I could not live without this carrier! It is by far the most comfortable baby carrier out there. I have used it for 4 years with all my children and it has held up wonderfully. I currently have twins and I keep it on all day so that I can keep one in the pack and carry the other on my hip - it makes twins a sinch!

Still wearing my baby and she's 26.5lbs!!! This is such an awesome carrier. Super soft (even softer in Organic!), durable, user friendly, comfortable...dare I say stylish? I know not a single person who isn't infatuated with their Ergo. You just can't go wrong!
Three ways to wear the baby makes this very versatile. And the enclosed instructional DVD is actually helpful!

We absolutely LOVE the ergo baby carrier. I don't know how I would mother without it :). I use it every single day and have carried a very wide range of children in it from my two year old to 3 month old. It's so convenient and fast. All of my babies love it and are so happy and content when in the ergo.
This is the first product that comes to mind when people ask what to buy for a expectant mother.

I used an adjustable sling/wrap with my first baby and thought it was wonderful until I tried the Ergo with my second! I din't like it as well when he was a newborn because I felt like the waist band dug into his tender legs, a little, and his legs seemed to be pushed too far apart, but from older babyhood (around 3-4 months, I think?) on (he's now two) it's been amazing! He loves it and will often go find it and bring it to me so I'll put him in it. It spreads the weight evenly and puts more weight on your hips than your shoulders, which I love. I've gotten good at putting him in the back by myself now that he's bigger. It's SO much easier to use than any other carrier I've tried!

This was perhaps the best gift I ever received! I asked for it for my 1st mothers day. . . before I used this one I had another brand that put a lot of pressure on my shoulders and back. THis was so comfortable I would wear my baby in it for most of the day when she was between 6 months - 1 year. Washing dishes, doing laundry, grocery shopping and even hiking settled and soothed my baby. And we shared such a great bond because of it!

I tried a sling carrier and wasn't happy with it. My baby slept well in it, but I found myself constantly peeking at her concerned about her position. Then I hurt my back and I had to have some way o carry the baby. I got an Ergo, and it was the best decision. It is so comfortable to wear, and my daughter loved it. When she was teething it was the only thing that soothed her. Now, at 19 months, I still use it. well worth the cost!
