My mom bought the ergo carrier for us because we were going to be moving across the US when our baby was just 2 weeks old. She thought it would make my flight with the 2 kids by myself easier and she was right!! I was able to carry my newborn w/ the ergo and infant insert with ease. He slept most of the time and I had my 2 hands free for luggage and helping my daughter along.
Our son is now six months old and we still use our ergo all the time! My husband loves it too now. He uses it to get our son to sleep when I'm out of the house. He snaps it on while he's doing stuff around the house and within minutes our son is sound asleep.
I also have a sling but it is NO where near as comfortable for me or for our son. You can tell by the way he fusses and squirms that he is not comfy in the sling.
I know I will use my ergo for years and years to come as it is made from high quality materials!
Great Job Ergo!!user review

I love the ERGO! I live local here in Texas and we use it for hikes and walks when we don't want to use the stroller. I recently went on vacation to California to see my in laws- on my way to the Austin Airport I forgot my black ergo sport at home, so I called babyearth (before they were open) and asked if I could stop by to buy another one. I am a faithful (once a week shopper here from Killeen)I could not have travled without my ERGO. It was great in the airport, on the plane, by the pier in San Fransisco, at the state fair, and everywhere else. My mother and sister in law even wore my son in it and they both loved it. By far the best thing I have ever bought. I have back problems and I haven't had a single ache. I bought the blue one this time and love it just as much. It's nice to have a variety. Can't wait for the performance to come out, I'll be getting that one too!user review

I absolutely love this product! It distributes weight far better than the Baby Bjorn, and the organic fabric is super soft. I used it with the larger infant insert at first, then moved to using it with just the bolster from the infant insert and now use it without. It transitions well as the baby grows. I also love the napper feature!user review

Once my daughter became 15 pounds, it was hard to carry her for longer than a quick shopping trip in either my padded ring sling or the baby bjorn. The difference was night and day. She took a nap in it the first time I ever wore her in it. I love that I can wear her either on my front or my back, and that it's lightweight enough for hot Florida weather. It was also really easy to use when traveling, when I had to speedwalk through the airport to make a connecting flight. The only drawback I've encountered so far is that you can't access the sleeping hood when wearing baby on your back unless it has already been pulled out of the pocket before putting the carrier on, or you have somebody help you. Because of this, I hardly ever stow the sleeping hood.user review

I started out with the regular ergo and loved it. We use it for hiking allot and it seems that my daughter would get really hot inside of it, so I decided to buy the sport to see if it was any better, and it was. I wouldnt say its better just different. The sport has less material to it so it breaths better and my daughter could move easier in it, making it perfect for hikes. I also use the ergo though to help put my daughter to sleep so in that case, the original would be better. So if you are using the urgo for average use, just out around town, I would get the original, it has more paddings, more conforts for you and the baby and it has a pocket on it. If you plan on doing lots of hikes, I would get the sport. It has less padding but is built better, It has vents to keep both child and adult cooler and it gives the child more space to move around in, this is important for long hikes. With all this being said, If I had to choose only one, I would get the original.

I love this carrier. I confess when we first bought it, I was a little concerned how a baby carrier would look on me, a guy....but having used this and worn my baby in it, I can say that it is truly a comfortable and very guy-appropriate carrier. The weight distrbution does not put undue pressure on my back.My wife uses the Ergo too with just a few simple adjustments of the straps...and she finds it easy to nurse in. Highly recommend!user review

We used this carrier a ton from about 12 months to 18 months. We even took my son to Europe and used it. It's well worth the cost. The only down side is that it is hard to use by yourself - you really need someone to help you get your child into it. I just bought a second one because I now have twins. user review

We are starting to use this carrier all of the time now. I love it as it has great support and it's versatile. It is a sure thing to put our daughter fast asleep when she is resisting. I have even got her on my back by myself in it with a little help from the mirror. I know this will get use for many months to come!user review

Wonderful carrier! I bought the Baby Bjorn and for some reason my son wasn't that comfortable in it. So I decide to do some reason and found the Ergo. It's easy to put on and comfortable for me and my son.user review

This is my favorite structured carrier. One of the few structured carriers tht can be worn in the front and in the back. I've carried both my infant and my toddler of 3 years old in it! Truely a carrier you can use from infant to toddler. The biggest plus is it's daddy friendly too! user review

This is a good carrier for the older baby to wear on the front or the back. It's a nice way to take a walk with your baby, even at naptime, because the baby can sleep peacefully in it.user review

I have 3 ergos because I love them so much!!! I have been babywearing for 5 years now straight and I keep returning to my Ergo's. The organic one is definitely the softest one I own and the one I keep in my car for the most use!user review

I've had this baby carrier for 2 kids and I can't live without it. I use it everyday for grocery shopping, clothes shopping, exercising, hiking, during sermons at church, and you can wear it in the front or backside which makes it really convenient and easier on the back. I would recommend it this over the Beco because it has a small outpouch where the baby booty goes and that makes it seemingly comfortable for them.user review

Utterly amazing. I borrowed a friend of mine's. As soon as we can afford it, we will buy one of these wonderful, easy to use carriers. If you're using it for an infant, remember the infant insert!!!user review

Purchased an Ergo when my daughter was able to hold her head up. My boyfriend didn't like all of the "tying" involved in using a piece of jersey knit cloth; he wanted something more manly. So, we got an Ergo. It has worked out great for us. My daughter loves being in it and we take her hiking in it all the time. It's great not to have to use a stroller. The only problem I have is my narrow shoulders. Sometimes I feel like the straps are slipping off and I can't tighten the Ergo anymore. This mostly happens after a long hike.user review

We got this carrier when our baby was a newborn and it was cold outside. We also got the insert used for baby under 4 months. The insert along with my body heat kept the baby nice and warm. The insert is also designed so the baby doesn't have to spread their legs when they are still so tiny. I like the fact we'll be able to use this carrier for years to come. My friends backpack their 3 year- old in it. user review

I started with the Baby Bjorn which worked well until my boy's were about 18 pounds. At that point, the Bjorn really pulled on my shoulders and back so I switched to the Ergo Carrier. It was great! I was able to take 3 mile walks on our vacation in Florida without any negative side effects, and the hood was great for keeping the sun off his head.user review

I was initially using the bjorn as my carrier, but found that my shoulders were hurting after about 30 minutes of use. One of my friends suggested I use the ergo organic carrier. I was reluctant to buy another carrier, but I was glad I did. My daughter likes being carried around in the ergo and she falls asleep without any problems. Best of all, my shoulders no longer hurts and I find that I am able to do simple tasks while my daughter is being carried.user review

I love my ergo! I don't know what I would do without it. I wear my baby while I cook, clean, hike, and anything else I can possibly manage. It's easy to put on, easy to adjust, and has basically become an extension of my body. I also love the sleeping hood/sunshade.user review

I used the baby bjorn carrier with my first child and it worked really well for him. It just wasn't working so well for my second baby, so I needed something else. I heard good things about the Ergo and decided to go with the sport carrier in hopes that it is cooler and would fit my husband better than the other models. I am in love with this! It is so comfortable. My four month old is 15 pounds and 27 inches long and was killing me in the bjorn. He is so light in this. I can sit down with him in this carrier too. I have only tried the front position with him so far. He needs to be a little older before I try the other positions. It may seem kind of expensive, but I think it is going to be my best baby investment. Note: If your baby is under 15 pounds you can't use this carrier without buying an additional insert.user review

i bought the cranberry organic for my son and i LOVE IT!!! everytime i put him in it he is a happy boy. those times when he needs to be close to me i can plop him in side and still get things done around the house. its perfect for outdoors, there are times that i have to use public transportation and this is just the thing to keep him close and safe and still have your hands free. this is 100% worth the cost. at first it may seem a little weird getting him in and out and adjusting the carrier but with time and practice it gets easier. the hood and little pockets in the carrier also come in handy. i recommend this to all parents. user review

I have used multiple carriers/slings and this is by far my favorite now that my baby is 6mths and we have a 2 year old to chase after. Both myself and the husband use it comfortably and feel he is secure while leaving both arms free to keep up with our 2 year old. I love the organic fabric, it is so soft and really feels like it becomes a part of your body. I prefer baby up front where he is in perfect position for cuddling/kisses. My husband prefers to wear him on his back freeing him up to cook or carry our 2 year old. LOVE this thing!!user review

I love this product. It's much more comfortable for me than the Baby Bjorn and our baby regularly falls asleep in it so he must also be comfortable. Maybe I wasn't doing it right, but I couldn't figure out how to position my baby with the infant insert without him being in an awkward position. We used the Bjorn until he was big enough to go without the insert. My shoulders were so happy to be out of the BB! * Also, it's easy to breastfeed in this carrier.user review
